Lenfest Film: Faculty Spotlight
Celebrating 60 years of School of the Arts films
The Faculty Spotlight series invites School of the Arts Film Department faculty to show the films that have influenced their study and informed their teaching on the big screen. To celebrate the School’s 60th anniversary, this semester we will showcase films created by alumni of the Film Program.
We are delighted to invite three faculty members to recognize three School of the Arts filmmakers who have each made a significant impact on cinema. On September 26, Professor Jack Lechner will present Kathryn Bigelow’s surfing action-thriller Point Break, starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. On October 24, Saim Sadiq’s sumptuous drama Joyland will be presented by Professor Ramin Bahrani, who has first-hand experience as an Executive Producer on the film. To close out the season on November 21, Professor Bette Gordon will present Lisa Cholodenko’s sultry and complex first feature, High Art.
We look forward to celebrating 60 years of the School of the Arts with these excellent alumni films this fall. See you at the movies!
