Directed by Emilio Cerci

Columbia University School of the Arts presents Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, a directing thesis production by current student Emilio Cerci and written by Dave Malloy.

You are cordially invited to enroll in The Moscow Social Club. Join the elite of New York City in an exclusive, members only event. There’s a war going on out there somewhere but behind the walls of New York City’s premier social club we celebrate the arrival of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 for one weekend only. With chandeliers and caviar, the war can't touch us here.

From the celebrated and award-winning composer Dave Malloy this electropop opera based on a scandalous slice of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace is a sweeping story of love, redemption, and scandal. Natasha Rostova arrives in Moscow to await the return of her fiancé from the front lines. When she falls under the spell of the roguish Anatole, it is up to Pierre, a family friend in the middle of an existential crisis, to pick up the pieces of her shattered reputation.
