James and the Giant Peach

Dir. Henry Selick
1996 I US I PG, age 7+
Runtime: 1 hour, 19 minutes

While living with his cruel aunts, young orphan James is mysteriously given a bag of magical crystals.  When he accidentally spills them in the garden, small things begin to grow to enormous proportions. Inside a giant peach, a group of human-sized insects form a friendship with the boy and embark on a magical journey across the ocean. Based on Roald Dahl’s classic tale, and produced by Tim Burton, this mix of live-action and stop-motion animation offers a brilliant escape into the wonders of transformative fantasy.
